About The Artwork

Expedition to electronic matter. I started this series in the middle of the pandemic, with plenty of time to research virtual worlds. Motivated by the need and possibility of discovering new ways of creating and combining synthetic materials. The works are exploratory journeys into electronic matter created in 3D software. The creation process begins by manufacturing the elements - actors - of the scene. I model them in a plastic way, it is a sculptural exercise as real as what I do with a piece of clay. For me, there is no difference between creating in virtuality and in physical reality. Both are sustained by a way of perceiving the mind. The compositions arise spontaneously because of the 3d medium itself; Other times I cross paths with other parallel research in which I force 2D programs to interpret images in pixels, creating glitches, which I use as a compositional structure. Once the composition is made, the journey of exploration begins. And it is totally discovery, since the program parameters are always different. This gives me infinite possibilities of refraction and reflection of light, the results never cease to surprise me. From there I moved on to the studio dashboard and acrylic. I stop being a virtual explorer and return to the workshop. The problems now are those of the painter's profession. Something that is already familiar to me, but is always magical, the alchemy of color and chiaroscuro. I do not consider 3d a sketch for painting. Both are different works and each one has its own spirit. I am not interested in the photographic copy, but in the interpretation through natural gesture; It is an exercise in decoding the construction algorithm of that matter. An update to my own plastic operating system.
