About The Artwork

This original artwork features black permanent marker and red acrylic colur on 15*20 cm canvas sheet, depicting a decorated elephant and Sun in the ""Mithila"" or ""Madhubani"" folk painting style of India. This freehand creation showcases the flowing primitive art with bright and vibrant colors that inspire the Mithila art. The traditional mural art has now transformed into paper, fabric, and other materials, and Charul learned this style from traditional artisans of Bihar region. The elephant in Madhubani tradition is considered as a symbol of royal, ceremonial and a mark of prosperity and power as well. The artwork is a reflection of Charul's intuitive and spontaneous style, moving from chaos and void to order, balance, and rhythm. She enjoys exploring different mediums, from black pen and marker to bright and vibrant colors, while maintaining the traditional context of Mithila/ Madhubani folk art. Currently the painting is unsigned, would be signed at front or back as desired by you. (Disclaimer: The image show is a photograph taken using a mobile phone. Colors may vary slightly from the actual artwork and may also vary from one screen to another)
