Born in Benevento in 1987. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples at the painting course and specializes in the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, graduating with a thesis in sculpture. His curriculum includes participation in numerous competitions and exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His curriculum includes the presence at the 54th Venice Biennale with a performance on the subject of commercial art, a fundamental line of the SPINA research of the early years. From the first steps in the art world stands out for its changing qualities and provocation that hits critics and audiences. His works always communicate, sometimes bitterly, with the present, placing artistic colors and intrusions as an effective means of irreverence. Michele Spina's research moves along a path that aims to unveil the dominant mechanisms of the old art system, using it as a vehicle for denunciation, but also as a proposal to go beyond the banality of everyday life, recalling that the life can be spirituality and dream, to recover the human dimension of existence. In recent years he has made iron and wool work, a traceable and recognizable sign that identifies SPINA in the world of contemporary art. Colorful, brilliant, the art of Michele Spina, besides having a great deal of sensitivity, fascinates and enchants the spectator. His art contains a great magnetic force that seems to jump out of the curved line colors. By carefully elaborating structures with colored wool strands it is able to describe graphic volumes and empty bodies. Investigate the animal world, goose, deer, elephants, mice, birds, live and enchant. While on the one hand in his works is evident a fashionable parody of the moment, on the other hand, the presence of the faces addressed points to an imaginary of the very punk creative world and undergrond.
