Emerald Bay, Andipaxos was a favourite place for Diane and her young daughters travelling the Greek Islands by sailing yacht. And on this occasion it was the beginning of a year long adventure across the Mediterranean with just Diane, her two daughters and a captain heading off from Greece and into the unknown! They had been to Emerald Bay many times before and recall the beauty of the landscape from the gardens and cliff tops and time spent anchored and swimming in the clear emerald waters with shimmering reflections of the hulls of the boats in the ripples.

This light and airy piece was influenced greatly by the gardens era of Patrick Heron, a brilliant twentieth century artist very much admired by Diane.

She hopes this artwork will bring gentle colour and happy vibes, and memories of holidays and travels.

I see. I dream. I interpret and then I paint!... ... I love painting, creating, baking, traveling and interior design. My artwork embodies all of these. After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in graphic art I spent a few years working in public relations, but was drawn back to my first love of art and design preferring visual communication over words. For over ten years I have created colorful and quirky textile and mixed media pictures. But since 2016 I have taken to the fluidity of paint, sometimes immense pieces, often immersive and regularly representing my surroundings, emotions or reflections. These can be of my time sailing in the Mediterranean and/or of my Cornish life. My paintings are nearly always colorful with layers of under painting, washes scrapped back to reveal images and mark making for detailing. Many of the pictures have a tendency towards abstract expressionism, sometimes with an ethereal quality. Many paintings are in private collections in Paris, Dublin, Edinburgh, Italy, Australia, South Africa, America and throughout England.
