The picture shows a burnt earth as it happens during a war. Obviously I was impressed by the black Georgian ceramics, which was at home in the kitchen. When working on the picture were used bitumen mastic, black enamels and textures. That was how Moldovan artist Mihai Grecu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mihai_Grecu) worked at the beginning of 1990, whom I then studied privately. A series of 20 black textures was created during one year 1994-1995. Today in my collection in Ukraine there are only four canvases. The remaining canvases are stored in Germany. The problem of war, political separation of territories, environmental disasters that swept humanity in the 20th century. The canvas symbolizes a feeling of loneliness, frustration and crisis. A kind of burnt earth, on which nothing grows, conveyed inner despair. Such a mood at that time was associated with creative crisis. After this series, I began to write abstract canvas in color.
