About The Artwork

EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING This painting is an expression of the connectivity of all that is created. Sometimes these connections are not obvious, … like wildfires in Australia with the melting ice in the Alps or the Arctic. We may ask, ‘what is it to do with me, that there are no longer trout in our local stream or that the swift population has declined?’ It may not have come to our notice that flies are no longer splattered all over the front of our car bonnets, headlights and windscreens when we go for a drive … well; at least we don’t have to clean off all those nasty splattered insects off the car! And; our lawns have nice short bug and weedfree grass! It is hoped the viewer will understand the links that connect all things. Our survival as a species depends upon deeply understanding connectivity of all things. Giving seemingly independent 'things' names is somewhat misleading as nothing exists in 'the round' independently. For example, a signpost is not what is written or indicated upon it's surface; it merely points us to what is indicated. All 'things' do not have a 'life' that is separated from all other things, a car requires all of its moving parts including an engine. More importantly, an engine requires 'space' between all moving parts to work. Once this fact is fully understood it's only a small step to realise we see objects because of the 'space' that surrounds them. For a minimum donation of more than £1,000 Prescriptive commisions may be undertaken. The entire ‘Artists share’ less site % will go directly to people in need; for example, the poor, homeless, hungry.
