About The Artwork
My practice involves addressing historical periods of importance that are represented by psychologically and socially charged images and objects. The flower painted here is a rare nearly extinct flower of Kannur and Wayanad districts, in Kerala, India. I very much love painting flowers. I find the existence of nearly extinct flowers and plants to be a natural subject for me since so much of my work is about survival. They are both very beautiful and very sad at the same time.
