Eye of the Storm Painting

I've always been fascinated with space, and after watching HD footage of the Earth from orbit, I was amazed how our atmosphere glowed and insulated us from the great beyond. During this time, I worked on a television show called 'People of Earth', and felt inspired to paint our world. The piece was later rented by the show as set decoration for one of the character's apartments. I hope viewers will gain perspective from this piece, as it illustrates the force of mother nature in a way that connects us to the grand design. The rotation of the clouds moves in sync with our planet's orbit around the sun, which in turn circles the galaxy, ad infinitum.
