Falling Trees, nr 1 Painting

All my art work, include this one and respective Collection, I do inside a big womb of water, that you can check in my web site (www.nadiaduvall.com). This painting I do inside the womb. I create thin skins of ink and I modulate with my body. These skins are in this work over a transparent tissue and create a subtil shadow. You should pu a light directly for creating the shadow. So, it's very hard to photograph all collection. The synopsis about "Falling Trees" is bellow: "BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH Falling trees is part Of Black Dress collection. This collection will probably accompany me the rest of my life, so I decided to divide the collection into chapters. Falling trees is the first chapter of Black Dress. Falling trees is about the skin, like all my work, but mostly about death. Death may be the loss of a loved one or get lost in ourselves, when we fall into a bo ttomless abyss in our heads, as is my case. In this series I mean the people who have passed in my life and that I lost, like my mother and my grandmother. The I-Skin, or Le Moi Peau of Anzieu is here sublimated in these black , green and blue skins. In these paintings we can see all the skins to converge to a point almost falling in space. Then there is the shadow, the shadow that covers us like a dress. The shade is made of light passing through the transparent canvas and reflects the painting on the wall. Falling trees is my catharsis, so it was my salvation. The sublimation of my monstrosity!"
