About The Artwork

Maria Tarver is an interdisciplinary artist who explores psychology through visual images in art and art through deep introspective psychological practice. Maria studied psychology for more than 11 years, received a degree in clinical psychology and still has a private practice today. Art for her acts as both a mouthpiece and a method of exploring one's own personality, as it visualizes our unconscious processes. In search of harmony and balance in her work, Maria uses clean and clear forms, lines that are comfortable for the eye and with no additional visual noise, and experiments with the density of layers. Along with working with space, small color points play a central role. Maria sees these color points as the essence of personality, with the uniqueness of each person laid out, enticing you to peer into it. So there is no point in creating a loud visual noise. "If you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
