About The Artwork
Abstract acrylic and latex on gallery wrapped canvas, all sides dripped over and painted white, back braces, no staples, ready to exhibit. I approach Abstract Expressionism from many directions. The benefit is mine, being influenced and inspired by all the Ab Ex painters who came a bit before me. I consider myself an inheritor of all the painterly lessons which were laid out before us. I only hope that as a painter I can extend the abstract expressionist legacy and do justice to it. Two painters who really speak to me are Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock. Here in this work I have once again taken a Pollockian approach. I completed this work in 2020 and have decided to reintroduce it with better photography, and a vertical rather than horizontal motif. There are so many ways to interpret Rothko and Pollock, the former, a color field painter and the latter, an action painter. The rich creative history of these two painters leads the way, and inspires all the creative generations of artists from their time to ours. Thank you for looking. Peace and Love.

I am an American abstract painter. Every so often I veer into expressionist figuration. As an outsider I studied the fundamentals of art, the great artists, and the influential art movements throughout history, on my own. One of my goals is to always remain outside the norm. I am heavily influenced by the Abstract Expressionists from The New York School. Inspiration also comes to me from the works of Claude Monet, Joan Mitchell and Lee Krasner as well. The outsider ideal connects with me thanks to artists such as Jean Dubuffet and Jean Michel-Basquiat. Non-comformity defines what art should be. My mission is to create engaging and innovative artworks. I hope to extend an appreciation of artistic expression to a wide audience. The painting process I employ involves acrylic and mixed media. As I paint, color and material are combined on the canvas, and I love to merge drawing with painting. Many of my original paintings are found in collections across North America, Europe, and Asia.
