The song samples "Oye Como Va" by Amral's Trinidad Cavaliers and uses vocal samples from "Modern Dynamic Physical Fitness Activities" by Ed Durlacher. The Fatboy Slim remix has the same lyrics, but has differences in the instrumental. This remix features an interpolation of "Fido" by The Byrds. This song is also featured on the Beastie Boys compilation The Sounds of Science which was released in the United States. There is also a radio remix featuring Redman, Biz Markie and Erick Sermon - utilizing the backing of the Fatboy Slim remix. This remix is also featured on the Xbox 360 game, Dance Central and the Wii dancing video game, Just Dance 2. The music video uses the Fatboy Slim remix version and was directed by MCA, under his alias Nathaniel Hornblower. It parodies and incorporates scenes from the 1968 Italian action film Danger: Diabolik (based on the comic character Diabolik) with Ad-Rockplaying the titular character, MCA playing the villain and Mike D as the villain's assistant. It was released in two versions: censored and uncensored; the former replacing machine gun blasts with that of a laser gun, and the latter featuring a comedic but bloody decapitation. The Fatboy Slim remix of the song is briefly heard in the 2013 film Star Trek Into Darkness. The song was featured in one episode of MTV animated series Daria. In Chile, the song was used the jingler winner of TVN TV Show Calle 7 in 2010-2012. The song was featured in the Netflix docuseries Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer because a featured Facebook user had named her username, "Baudi," after the song. Hello Nasty is the fifth studio album by American rap rock group Beastie Boys. It was released on July 14, 1998 by Capitol Recordsand sold 681,000 copies in its first week, debuting at number 1 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart. The album won two awards at the 1999 Grammys, in the categories of Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for "Intergalactic". In the Beastie Boys Book, Ad-Rock said he felt that Hello Nasty was their "best record”. Beastie Boys were an American hip hop group from New York City, formed in 1981. The group was composed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond (vocals, drums), Adam "MCA" Yauch (vocals, bass) and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (vocals, guitar, programming). Beastie Boys were formed out of members of experimental hardcore punk band the Young Aborigines in 1978, with Diamond as vocalist, Jeremy Shatan on bass guitar, guitarist John Berry and Kate Schellenbach on drums. When Shatan left in 1981, Yauch replaced him on bass and the band changed their name to Beastie Boys. Berry left shortly thereafter and was replaced by Horovitz. After achieving local success with the 1983 comedy hip hop single "Cooky Puss", Beastie Boys made a full transition to hip hop, and Schellenbach left. They toured with Madonna in 1985 and a year later released their debut album, Licensed to Ill, the first rap record to top the Billboard 200 chart. Their second album, Paul's Boutique (1989), composed almost entirely of samples, was a commercial failure, but later received critical acclaim. Check Your Head (1992) and Ill Communication (1994) found mainstream success, followed by Hello Nasty (1998), To the 5 Boroughs (2004), The Mix-Up (2007), and Hot Sauce Committee Part Two(2011). Beastie Boys have sold 20 million records in the United States, and had seven platinum-selling albums from 1986 to 2004, as well as being the biggest-selling rap group since Billboard began recording sales in 1991. In 2012, they became the third rap group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In the same year, Yauch died of cancer and Beastie Boys disbanded. Since then, the remaining two members have released several retrospective works, including a book and documentary film detailing the history of the group, as well as a career-spanning compilation album. Mike Diamond has worked as a producer with several acts, notably Portugal The Man and Slaves, while Adam Horovitz has taken a number of small acting roles and continues to play music. I’m (I am?) a self-taught artist, originally from the north suburbs of Chicago (also known as John Hughes' America). Born in 1984, I started painting in 2017 and began to take it somewhat seriously in 2019. I currently reside in rural Montana and live a secluded life with my three dogs - Pebbles (a.k.a. Jaws, Brandy, Fang), Bam Bam (a.k.a. Scrat, Dinki-Di, Trash Panda, Dug), and Mystique (a.k.a. Lady), and five cats - Burglekutt (a.k.a. Ghostmouse Makah), Vohnkar! (a.k.a. Storm Shadow, Grogu), Falkor (a.k.a. Moro, The Mummy's Kryptonite, Wendigo, BFC), Nibbler (a.k.a. Cobblepot), and Meegosh (a.k.a. Lenny). Part of the preface to the 'Complete Works of Emily Dickinson helps sum me up as a person and an artist: "The verses of Emily Dickinson belong emphatically to what Emerson long since called ‘the Poetry of the Portfolio,’ something produced absolutely without the thought of publication, and solely by way of expression of the writer's own mind. Such verse must inevitably forfeit whatever advantage lies in the discipline of public criticism and the enforced conformity to accepted ways. On the other hand, it may often gain something through the habit of freedom and unconventional utterance of daring thoughts. In the case of the present author, there was no choice in the matter; she must write thus, or not at all. A recluse by temperament and habit, literally spending years without settling her foot beyond the doorstep, and many more years during which her walks were strictly limited to her father's grounds, she habitually concealed her mind, like her person, from all but a few friends; and it was with great difficulty that she was persuaded to print during her lifetime, three or four poems. Yet she wrote verses in great abundance; and though brought curiosity indifferent to all conventional rules, had yet a rigorous literary standard of her own, and often altered a word many times to suit an ear which had its own tenacious fastidiousness." -Thomas Wentworth Higginson "Not bad... you say this is your first lesson?" "Yes, but my father was an *art collector*, so…"
