Urban Myths Series - FLOAT, illuminates what may not be seen, but felt. The quantum field tells us that everything is mostly space, and within the space there is a lot of potential for co-existence. A playful presence. At any one moment in time many things are happening simultaneously. A fish with legs & shoes floats by a surround of various characters. The fish is inspired by my 1989 painting - called The Mystery Dance. I began painting the circle of characters in 1992 during a stay in Toronto between many trips and journeys to Mexico, Costa Rica and Europe. This painting was exhibited many times in the 2000's without the fish with legs, that character which now is the central character was painted in 2015, completing the painting.. It was a surprise for me, the day I began to paint this fish, as this painting had actually travelled with me for all those years from studio to studio.
