About The Artwork
When I was a child, I spent countless hours in the yard of our apartment building, in my favorite tree. The silence of the tree and the rustling of the leaves really calmed me and I could dream there for hours. A memory that I keep to this day. These memories have shaped my appreciation for #nature and its endless diversity. And the admiration for the process of #growing, the constant change. For this reason, the topic of “vegetation” has been the focus of my artistic work for the past year. Today I would like to introduce you to the picture “Floral Reverie II” in more detail. I think it suits the season of summer perfectly. The colors are deliberately chosen and symbolize a perfect moment in nature. The green stands for nature, the blue for inner freedom, and the red tones symbolize the flowers and the feminine aspect. In terms of style, it is very dense, the colors are applied boldly, it is a very intensive painting. One picture from the series has already been taken, I will show the others at an exhibition in the #stadtgalerie Purkersdorf in October. Sources of inspiration for my series are elements of nature and its change, music, and the love of playing with color. My works of art want to inspire you, arouse emotions in you, and convey special moods. "Monika Herschberger's approach is a reproduction of sensory impressions of one or more colors in relation to one another, which she transfers in various forms and brushstrokes to one another on the image carrier. Often individual layers are washed off again with a brush and water or even with the shower head. The resulting paint residues are partially painted over again or remain visible on the canvas as a sign of variability. Individual graphic elements are accentuated with pens in order to contrast the delicacy of the lines with the colored areas."
