About The Artwork
My artwork is based on a first abstract approach with mixed media consisting of a ground mixture of gesso and plaster either on paper or canvas and then free painting with acrylics. In the process the figures or subject matters emerge and I then I draw/paint what I see and feel. I expect the viewer to see and/or feel as I do, but if not the spectrum is wide enough to have a different experience. In this Series The Hidden I am trying to convey the viewer to what is behind, hidden, and suddently emerging.

I'm a visual artist born in Venezuela and have recently moved to Miami. My first works were made on paper using mixed media with acrylic painting, linoleum printing, and transfers. I later moved to canvas using mostly acrylic. My current work dives deep into the concept of “joie de vivre”, drawing inspiration from vintage photos taken from old family albums, Toulouse Lautrec's art, and images from 50’s and 60’s from TV and newspapers. Mostly figurative, my artwork features vivid colors and energetic brush strokes, and is influenced by a combination of expressionism and contemporary art.
