From The Surface Of The Sublime Into The Deep Calm Painting

My art making is heavily influenced by my upbringing within the punk/surf/skate/snowboard communities I have been a part of over the years. Coastal cities around the world have especially been a major source of inspiration in my art making process. I use an array of visual references, mediums, and techniques to materialize my interruptions of the human experience. Generally, my work addresses subjects like the perceptions of beauty within the mundane, identity or lack of, subcultures within pop culture, mythology, spirituality, the paranormal, and comic relief. By using bold color and complex compositions, my work communicates exuberance for life. The work often reflects my ability to connect with others and my passion to fuse art with social events, live performances, and public spaces.
