"FROM SELF" from the cycle "Solomon's Paradox". There are only 18 paintings in the "Paradox of Solomon" series of paintings, divided into three blocks: "Attack", "Escape" and "Stupor". This artwork is from the second part of Escape. It's all about my escape thoughts, polling people on this topic and their reactions on social networks. In general, in the paintings from the series, in the center of the canvas is a white circle, a bubble, symbolizing the limited worldview of the hero. In the center of this circle is a human silhouette with fuzzy edges. This blur creates the dynamics of movement in vacuum white space. The outer part of the paintings is different every time. This work with turbulent shades of blue, green and brown creates a sense of chaos around. This is the surrounding world, its variability, events, energy flows. The person in the center seems isolated, confined by her own fear, symbolized by her blurred blue shadow in front of the figure, a shadow from which she cannot escape. What makes us run? What are we really trying to hide from? This escape will continue as long as there is strength to run, but behind it lies something more: the zone of our growth, courage and freedom of will. The painting is simple, minimalist and at the same time poses a thought-provoking question: is running a way of survival? or perhaps an invitation to stop and face what we are really running from?

Hello, I'm Olena, a passionate self-taught artist from Ukraine/ While my academic background is in pharmacy, my heart has always belonged to art. Since childhood, I've loved creating things with my hands, and this passion has only grown stronger over the years. My artistic journey took a profound turn at the beginning of the war in Ukraine. This challenging time inspired me to dive deeper into my work, using art to explore the complexities of human nature and evoke moments of life awareness. My paintings delve into themes of the subconscious, the journey of the soul, free will, and the collective consciousness, often drawing from my own transformative experiences. I'm fascinated by psychology, Vedic astrology, religion, and philosophy, which significantly influence my art. I continuously refine my technique to convey these ideas skillfully. I primarily work with watercolors, acrylics, and collage, with a particular love for watercolors. The unpredictable nature of watercolor has become a delightful part of my creative process, akin to a dance, where each stroke brings energy and melody to my paintings. Over the past two years, I've participated in over 20 exhibitions, including international events like the plein air in Gdansk, Poland, and received recognition as a winner of the AMERICAN ART AWARDS 2022. I was also the curator and organizer of Ukraine’s first all-Ukrainian watercolor exhibition, focusing on personal boundaries and promoting watercolor art in my country. My works are part of the Meta Museum of War collection in Kyiv and various private collections across Canada, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, Netherlands and the USA. I invite you to explore my art and discover the stories behind each piece. Thank you for visiting my store. Warm regards, Olena Koliesnik
