The picture is symbolic. A girl holding a pomegranate in her hands. The pomegranate is the ancient Eastern emblem of the sun. The color of pomegranate juice is so similar to blood that the Greeks assured that the pomegranate is filled with the blood of Dionysus himself. Blood is the bearer of vital energy, and therefore the blood-red pomegranate was regarded by them as a symbol of life. The structure of this amazing fruit is also very symbolic: a lot of grains hidden under a single shell, conjured ancient philosophers of association with the one in their diversity of the universe. In addition, pomegranate is a symbol of fertility and abundance, rebirth and immortality, the emblem of sexuality, love and marriage. The Muslims saw it as a symbol of moral purification; Buddhists considered him one of the three blessed fruits, and Christians saw in the granular fruit an allegory of the church itself, patronizing numerous believers. Moreover, in Christian iconography, the pomegranate in the hand of the Savior is one of the symbols of the resurrection. Pomegranate in a number of traditions acts as a paradise apple, a fruit from the tree of knowledge, a wonderful tool. In ancient Greece was considered the image of death, oblivion, but also divine food, the hope of immortality.
