About The Artwork
Full Moon is inspired by 19th century Gustave Courbet's paintings "Desperate Man" and "Wounded Man". I have adopted this persona depicted in Courbet's works, to portray a young man that could be from the the past or present day. As the moon appears, he is beginning to transform - so far almost imperceptibly - into a werewolf. Full Moon is about how things can change in the night, or overnight, and how we may feel ourselves transformed without anyone else noticing.

Hayes' work can be found in private and public collections, such as the Art Bank of the Canada Council, Loto Quebec, La Grande Bibliothèque du Québec and the Musée du Québec. Hayes lives and works in Montreal.
