About The Artwork
Inspired by the contemporary crisis in ecology and the MeToo movement -this work is done on two layers, underneath are mini portraits of brave women- Greta Thunberg-Wangari Maathai- Jyoti Singh-and a two year old child and girl baby to represent countless others. I have put Gaia with rainbows to represent hope but the threat of ecological disaster is also present in the rough handling of gesso.
