In an experimental period, the artist decided to construct a few collage paintings. One of them was inspired by mythology, the story of the Garden of Hesperides. When the goddess Hera married Zeus, Gaio, the Earth gave her the immortal Tree of Golden Apples as a wedding present for her orchard. The Hesperides, who were the three nymphs and daughters of the Evening guarded the golden apples from being stolen aided by Lardon, the never-sleeping dragons. With various papers and found objects the artist constructed this collage of the Garden of Hesperides. It is framed behind glass in a black frame measuring 26 x 19 inches. It is wired for immediate hanging.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia and have one sister. As a child I focused more on my music education and received piano lessons from a very early age. I still enjoy playing. My true art education began in my thirties when I began taking drawing, pastel and oil painting lessons. I took many lessons and tried many different mediums focusing on watercolors and oils. No my husband and I live in Bryn Mawr. I taught English and Reading for many years and always had students incorporate art into their projects. I have four sons, 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters and another due soon. My life revolves around my family, my art painting and my music-- and I enjoy cooking too.
