For depicting Gautam Buddha, "Mithila" or "Madhubani" traditional folk painting style of India has been used for this artwork. The free-flowing, freehand lines and figures, often used bright and vibrant colors of Mithila art, also known as Madhubani painting, inspire me. The figures are flat, linear and drawn without the use of perspective. I like working with the Mithila/ Madhubani art in the traditional as well as contemporary context.

I enjoy drawing freehand, where every freehand action, every mark made, leads to the next one, and next, creating a poetry with lines, a story in rhythm.
