About The Artwork

This piece is meant to portray tranquility, Though turmoil may surround you, simply closing your eyes and being at peace may bring you a short rest. I painted with acrylic both regular and iridescent to create layers within the two dimensional space and used tempera paint sticks to add texture. Thus work is inspired by the master Gustav Klimt, which can be seen in the addition of gold and continuous pattern.

Painting is my serenity. My lifelong devotion to art has navigated me through a journey characterized by boundless creativity. One of my most favorite things to do is immerse myself in a world of color and creating. Originating in the realm of interior design, I marked my entry with a discerning eye for aesthetics, the hallmark of my early career being impactful, colorful commercial and retail spaces. It was during this time that I was introduced to art procurement. I was beyond fortunate to work for one of Forbes top 40 CEOs. This granted me access to renowned artists and museum curators, providing me with hands-on invaluable knowledge about art and culture. In the course of my journey, I discovered a sense of purpose in education, leveraging my rich background in design and my fervor for fine arts to become a visual arts educator. However, at the core, I have always remained an Artist. I have been honing my craft to convey my profound love for color, texture, and pattern in a more personal way. I work in acrylic paint, loving the intense colors it offers. The fast drying medium allows me to keep up with the ideas that circle in my mind feverishly. I enjoy the juxtaposition of a beautiful flower with the surprise of a creepy crawly amongst it. A sunflower no longer in its prime with a beautiful hummingbird admiring its withered petals. In my larger work, I concentrate on abstracted florals where I dissect the background into various colors creating more interest for the viewer. The goal in mind is to create an unexpected take on a botanical painting. Lastly, I paint animals, mostly dogs. I work somewhat realistically or have fun putting them and their surroundings in a whimsical abstract situation. My work stands as a testament to the fusion of design sensibilities, educational experiences, and an unwavering connection to the expressive nature of art.
