Gold Painting

This is the fourth of July meets aboriginal upcycled art. This is an abstract piece painted on what I call Wine Paper (the paperboard used in cases of wine). I used this for its ability to hold a great deal of paint, its texture, and to reduce what I send to the landfill. Upcycled art has many appearances and I want this Wine Paper collection to demonstrate the possibilities of using alternative mediums and styles. Additionally, I have placed this piece in a refurbished wooden frame. Its frame is brushed nickel to offset the gold of the artwork that surrounds the reds of the spark. The original is tempera stick, acrylic marker, ink, and paint on paperboard.
