About The Artwork

According to the legends, the newly-escaped-from-slavery nation of Israelites made themselves an idol out of the gold they took with them from Egypt while Moses was up on the mountain talking to his god. This idol was likely based on an Egyptian bull god, Apis, and looked nothing like what I pictured (which was just a sweet little innocent baby cow). Of course, we look back on the Israelites now with hindsight and scoff. What fools! We say. If only we could recognize the cows we idolize in the name of our own religions.
