ABOUT THE ARTWORK
How Could I Paint From a Picture? Oh NO I bought golden oyster mushrooms months ago when I was making the Mushroom Bolognese and then never used them in the mix - because I they thought they were to beautiful to chop up & I'd paint them. When I did get to paint those golden oysters they were dried out. I voed I'd try and paint fresh ones. These I think I'll use in a risotto. Recipes 4 Survival is the foundation for a number of spin -off bodies of work I'm currently working on. For this series, 'Brown Baggin' It' I paint ingredients, food & or various sundries onto the brown paper bags the purchases came in. I love how this project dovetails with the mission and central concept of Recipes 4 Survival - to be mindful, resourceful, & economical, maintaining basic staples and to use materials 'at hand' and the text based free writing.
