Gorilla Painting

There is always something a little surreal about the gorilla. They resemble humans, but are exponentially more powerful. Unlike humans, they don't boast about how strong they are; their actions speak much louder than their boast. I was always fascinated by them as the strongest animal on earth. My first impression was seeing King Kong for the first time as a young boy. I used an acrylic paint on a canvas panel for this piece. Since they are so illusive, I wanted to use a style of art that shows that movement even while standing still for a portrait.
