About The Artwork
This Salvador Dali inspired piece was created because my grandmother asked me why I didn't paint any pictures of Jesus. My answer was simple, the traditional pictures of Jesus did not resonate with me. Christ of Saint John of the Cross is one of my favorite portrait in Dali's collection. His use of perspective and shadows are amazing. I decided to create the black version of this picture with dred locs and all so that Jesus can hang in my living room, and many other people of African decent can enjoy a black savior.
