About The Artwork
I was inspired by this lovely little side ally with a path that questioned where does this path go? Loving old cottages and buildings and the abundance of flora the local manage to grow in pots. Using acrylic paint which I prefer for its richness of colour and versatility and how well it works on canvas I wanted to create a feeling of tranquillity and calm in my painting. The edges are painted so when the painting is hung it blends in to the wall. Hanging fixtures are fitted to the back of the painting. The painting has been coated with matt varnish for protection and longevity

I was born and raised in North London and now live in South Kent. I have had a passion for painting since I was a small child and undertook art classes at school. However, once starting work my painting dwindled and it wasn’t until I had a child and started doing painting and crafts with them that my passion for painting came back and I have been painting now for the last 30 years, while working full time. I started out with watercolour and pastels and then moved on to acrylic paints which I preferred for the richness in colour and versatility. Working within the NHS for the past 19 years I have found painting a great help in relaxing after a very busy day. I am passionate about flora and fauna and enjoy doing paintings with these in mind. I like painting a variety of subjects and take inspiration from walks in the countryside with my dog and visiting places that are calming and tranquil.
