About The Artwork
This is Grid 6, from a series of small paintings. The first layer is a mix of green and gray tones. Almost like a satellite photo of a natural area. These gray, white and green shades are then provided with rectangles. As if farmers have cleared and cultivated the land and divided the landscape into squares. There are still a few remnants of unexplored territory left at the edges. Each rectangle has the color that is most common in that location. A small portion of the canvas is left unpainted. This is uncharted territory, waiting to be explored.
