About The Artwork
There's a lot I could say about this painting but I feel like I shouldn't. It's about relationships. It reads like Akbar and Jeff from Matt Groening's Life in Hell strips (more specifically, Love is Hell). The colors are Simpsons-y are chosen for their contrast and applied with a masking technique I was exploring. This piece continues a reoccurring exploration of the distillation of art. I like the results! This painting was awarded an honorable mention in the Ventura County Fair, where I had it titled Do Not Touch. So there's that, too. Oil on 18"x24" canvas board mounted on wood in a black frame.
