HOUSEWIFE was born from dealing daily of the toils and tribulations of being a wife, mother, business person, and having to push being an artist as meditation. It was created genderless because many men are now the housewife. The piece represents the femine side to please the partner, the gun represents protector of children and also the wife has to be a contributing money factor. My work is typically staged in kitchen sinks representing the everyday drudgery that never ends. This piece was choosen for Miami Art Basel off site exhibit

I was born in Hammond, IN, USA on April 15, 1949. My life has taken several paths. But always I have been an artist. I think like one, I communicate like one, I envision like one. I relate to this world in the artistic visual language. My art is about life. It represents my viewpoint of nature, food, and social commentaries. Upfront I have a seemingly bubbly personality but under as most there is the dark side I experience. I incorporate the light and dark sides of life in my work. Humor and contemplation. I create from life inspirations similiar to life flowing from one aspect to another not in total control...creating a sense of insanity, freedom and succession. In layers as in life. Art has been my best friend...art has kept me sane in my own weird way. CRITICS STATEMENTS "I can appreciate most art - but I like the "from the gut" work - there is an authenticity of intent and emotion I really connect with...and a sense of thumbing one's nose at tradition in the vein of personal expression...I find this irresistible... Jennifer Wagner, Gallery 26, Easton, MD, March 22, 2010 Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry "she sees all pursuits...to share with viewers her own sense of wonder and delight while immersed in such visual richness. Ligocki operates in a realm where her artful connections demonstrate how images outpace words and reach a more essential area of consciousness.....While the viewer is frequently tempted to look at and understand depicted ritual gestures, glyphs, and symbols as material to be researched or explored for specific meanings, Ligocki in the work seems to disarm such heady pursuits....." Critical Review August 10, 2008 by Greg Hertzlieb, Director/Curator, Brauer Museum of Art, Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN "She's a very talented watercolorist who really knows her medium...She is brave in what she does and she's very honest in what she says in her art, which is refreshing. " The Times, Press release, April 25, 2008, by Linda Dorman co-owner and curator Uncle Freddy's Gallery, Highland, IN
