Discover the cradle of miniature artistry in Jaipur, where we proudly present a small yet captivating masterpiece that embodies the unmatched skill of local artists. Unveiling this gem left me astounded – what initially appeared to be art turned out to be a piece of history. Delving into its origins, I was amazed to uncover its true identity as an ancient Indian currency from Jeypoor, now known as Jaipur. Behold the elegance of the Jeypoor Government two Annas Currency, a nostalgic link to the city's past, where the very name has transformed from "jepyoor" to the modern "jaipur." Executed on weathered paper with a history of approximately 80-90 years, this artwork is a testament to time's passage. Each image evokes a distinct emotion, and in this particular piece, a profound tenderness and a harmonious palette of colors converge, creating an aura of relaxation and serenity. The creative process behind this piece spanned 8-9 days, a testament to the dedication poured into its making.

Born in 1961 in Jaipur, I rejuvenated India's antique art heritage, beginning my artistic journey under the tutelage of my father, Natu Lal Marotia. Immersed in vibrant colors from childhood, I delved into miniature painting at ten, mastering styles like Jodhpur, Kota, Bundi, and Jaipur. Despite financial struggles, I persisted, even sold coal and tea to sustain my art. In 1992, I made a triumphant comeback, winning the District Award for Best Miniature Painting. This marked the start of my ascent, highlighted by the prestigious 1997 National Award. Global recognition followed with a 1984 Paris exhibition, solidifying my status as a premier artist for national representations at international events. Beyond miniatures, I revived stained glass painting, providing livelihoods and led heritage restoration at Indian landmarks like Jaipur Palace. My footprint spans four continents through workshops, revitalizing miniature art close to extinction.
