The painting is one out of ten made about hair and the spirituality of it. In one example of many, we can trace the idea back to the Old testament in the bible to Samson and Delilah. "Samson letting his hair grow was an oath to God. The deal was: as long as he don't cut it, he'll be powerful," "When Delilah had his hair cut off, she severed that oath, which made him weak and vulnerable" Hair is so often about power and a connection to our creator

VICTOR MORAWO (b. 2001) is a young contemporary impasto painter from Oyo state, south western Nigeria. His artistic career started as a self-taught artist during his high school education which fueled his desire to learn art professionally, a move that led him to study art and design from The Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa. Inspired by the works of art master’s such as Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gogh, Henry Taylor, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Kehinde Wiley, Oluwole Omofemi etc. Morawo’s art is inspired by his life experience of humanity, especially social issues faced by human of unique qualities different to the so called “social standard”. This reflects in some of his works including “self-acceptance”, “self-love”, “body-positivity”, “down-to-earth”. He sees art as a way to express himself to the world. Morawo believes “art is for many eyes but for few hearts” hence, he never forsake originality in every of his works, for the few hearts who sees the message. In 2019, he did an internship at the Oluwole Omofemi Studio, after his national diploma program, in a bid to fine-tune his artistic skill set needed to deliver his expression in the best form and also fulfill his potential as an artist in this digital age.
