About The Artwork
The largest piece from my Orchid Series exploring the contradiction and beauty of life and death. This particular piece explores the sensual side of femininity with underlying messages of love as both agony and ecstasy. The soft ballerina dresses next to the cold hard metal bolts and wire combine these paradoxical relationships. The light reflecting off of the metal bolts and intermingled chicken wire playfully suggests dancing movement, as the orchids stand stoic and firm, displaying their unwavering strength.
