About The Artwork
This is a painting of fashion icon Heidi Middleton who started the label Sass and bide. Heidi is a local in my town and is beautiful on the inside and out. I have always had a fascination for fashion as it was something I didn’t grow up knowing as a child. This is a painting on reclaimed dressmakers paper. This work has rough edges and layers underneath. The original work had wax resist which has come through perfectly on the sunglasses and hair. I have used spray paint for the headpiece and gold leaf on the glasses. In this work I was exploring ideas for The Archibald Prize entry. This work will be rolled and posted in a poster tube for transport.
