What inspired? The situation of indigenous people in Brazil and the parade of the samba school in rio de janeiro. What do you expect your viewers to feel / think? I hope that by seeing the title piece "Ei Você Ai Me Devolve A Terra Aí " or "Hey you there Give me back the earth there" that people who live and others who do not live in the country realize the need to respect the demarcation of indigenous lands, and that the priority is not people who do not need the government for anything, are the first inhabitants and must have their history and culture respected.. Why did you choose the medium, the subject, the style? The subject was inspired by an image of the parade of the school of samba "Mangueira", where the indigenous theme it was part of the show, but I played it my way as if the Indians were looking at the caravels not understanding what was happening and I believe it was the same vision of the invading white men, as if somehow they were suspicious that something bad would not happen, and history showed that it was bad, in this work I used acrylic paint in certain parts of the piece for the first time together with oil paint, a form of rupture in my photo-impressionist work.
