About The Artwork

Himalayas, Thirst for Life. 2015. Oil on canvas. 200 x 160 cm/ 79 x 63 inches From series 'Flora and Fauna' Bright and juicy composition, flowers in the mountains of Himalayas, Northern India The first time I went to Northern India (Little Tibet) was in 1999. Here are towns such as Manali, Kullu, Dharamsala and Rishikesh, and the village of Naggar where N. Roerich lived and worked. I spent a total of about two months at the Roerichs’ estate, in Naggar and at the Rohtang Pass and made more than fifty sketches. These places are bewitching with their beauty and unusual positive aura. The air is pure and resonant, permeated with the aroma of spices and the songs of local residents. It’s hard to breathe on the Rohtang Pass (about 4,000 meters above sea level), but the grandeur of the mountains is enchanting, like a bottomless ocean stretching into the distance, and snowy peaks like lambs (waves) roll into your soul and you can’t not paint it all, you could only sing it. This is a very powerful sight and feelings overwhelm your soul, although it’s difficult to breathe and the pass can be covered with snow. I am very happy that not only did I visit the pass three times, but also brought to Moscow several paintings and memories that I express on canvas. This is a unique, one of a kind original oil painting. It was done in oil on canvas stretched on a wooden frame. The painting is sold unframed Shipping rolled in a strong tube by UPS, 7-10 days after dispatch fully tracked.
