Lazy days, warm colours, the promise of sun, maybe a funfair, and ice cream of course- these are the holidays we used to look forward to as children. Times of innocence, of pure enjoyment, uncomplicated fun. I loved doing these 2 paintings - seagull is the other one and they go as a pair. Mixing up muted, old fashioned pastel shades to elicit feelings of nostalgia, using old tickets in the collage work I am working towards a sustainable studio practice, reducing my reliance on plastic materials and researching ancient binders, pigments and methods
