Mark Rothko (1903 - 1970), born Markus Yakovlevich Rothkowitz, was a Latvian-born American abstract painter. He is best known for his color field paintings. This experimental abstracted landscape features pure bright color reminiscent of Rothko's work. It was painted en plein-air at the Core Creek Park in Langhorne, PA.
