This 24" x 24" acrylic on canvas is anything but ordinary. Here are a few things that came up during the painting process that I would like to share with you all. Arguably, the most time I spend when creating a new painting is the idea that I am trying to bring down from "source" to share with the world. The idea itself does not always present itself with a clear vision and sometimes getting these bits of fragmented concepts on a canvas can be a bit challenging. This painting was no exception. Lets take a look at the main attraction of this artwork, which is this snail creature with a home on its back being lead by a fairy. When we look at the home, I had the idea of an ornament. The branches hold the home together as the fairy leads the way to a different world. When crossing through this unfamiliar place, we see coral flowing down a stream. I wanted to create the environment of both, not so obvious underwater or above ground, to let the viewer make that determination. As we move further down the painting we see this solider firefly coming back to a destroyed home. I use the crying moon eye to convey both lost and intuition. While it may shine and lead the way for the fairy, it also harbors despair for the little bug. I guess the fairy must know a thing or two about the initiable change and adapting to what comes next.

Hello, my name is Eva. I am a self taught artist focusing on paintings. I have worked with a variations of different mediums from markers, to acrylics and from different art styles ranging from stippling to space art and find myself enjoying surrealism. I primarily work in acrylic paints and paint from "source" - where all ideas come from. I love to show off vibrant colors and my work demonstrates familiar concepts in an unfamiliar setting. I hope you enjoy the art.
