HOMINUM LIGNUM Painting

I use to call this piece "Hominum Lignum" an human made of timber but not any kind of timber, a timber of extraordinary strength and durability "Lignum vitae" I have been working in the last 2 years in the subject of trees from I moved to Asia where the human spirituality is still very close to nature. Trees are like temples, shelter for body and soul. Trees and humans are the only beens that for reach the sky need to set strong roots in the ground. we both connect the terrence world with the spiritual. the ground with the stars. the Artwork shows an intense verticality sense, intricate and tensioned textures that connect the rich ground with an etereal sky. As Nietzsche said “Trees are the only being that, as humans, unites earth and heaven” I want me art to speak to people, to create a place for them to rest and meditate.
