House #3 (Favelas) Painting

This painting was created in order to show that social housing in poor areas is not less beautiful than any other contemporary, new houses. I wanted to feature the way that normal people, where ever they are, are able to make their living conditions so much better, by just painting them or decorating them in different ways. This time, I was inspired by Brazilian favelas, which are vivid and expressive of their inhabitants. I used different mediums for differently coloured buildings, such as one of them is painted in watercolour, another one is made from acrylics, other is a collage and the last one is made from pieces of card. Of course, the mediums overlap and contribute to each other, creating a vibrant and highly textured surface, full of colour. This painting would look in any modern, bright environment and will remind you of everlasting beauty that can be found in anything.
