About The Artwork

I was just about to paint an extremely colorful painting of a Kingfisher in close-up view but abstract as I’ve had to take a break. I didn’t like what I’ve done to this canvas. I switched over to Facebook, glanced over my timeline and read a comment to my posting by Admiral Schwarz, Minister of Danger and Unexpected Phenomenon of our Proud, Free, and Interactive Royal Republic of Ladonia. I literally ROTFL! There is a snapshot of this conversation attached to the back of this painting. Let’s knuckle down! I repainted it with a very nice blue (couldn’t stop thinking about the awesome Yves Klein exhibition some years ago but no, it’s not IKB 191 ^^), let it dry completely and began “How far do the whales have to dive and hold their breath to get to the other side of the island?” with a pure yellow. Suddenly I realized that I’ve came to exactly the same point like at that open-air workshop years ago located in the middle of Vienna (Austria) where a sculptor taught me sculpture day by day the whole summer. I stopped. “There is not much you can do but ask the stone. If you apply too much pressure you will destroy your imagination.” And I succeeded with this painting. Unlike the five feet high Ballerina Leg sandstone sculpture which then broke up at the end. Please share the joy with me!

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I'm a painter who is aware of Picasso's words: “In order to come to abstraction, one always has to start from tangible reality. Brush strokes, which have no meaning at all, will never produce a painting.” It gives me great pleasure to combine different techniques and styles. So far I have never repeated these combinations in any painting. And I do not intend to do this, because painting - especially with acrylic - still offers me many possibilities.
