Hunter Painting

Hunter 70 X 80 X 2 cm. Oil painting on rough grain linen stretched canvas. The painting continues on the sides. The artwork is signed by the author both front and back. This artwork is part of the painting series My Friends since 2006. The series was created during my life in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The basis for the painting Hunter was my sketches from 2000/2002. The reason for this is my memories from distant childhood. I was born and spent my childhood in the very north of Russia in the Republic of Sakha / Yakutia. A small town Chokurdakh near the East Siberian Sea. At that time, I was reading Jack London's stories about the adventures of travelers, discoverers, explorers and hunters. There was also a real character. This was my grandfather who was a passionate hunter and traveler and also an incredibly kind and positive person. A separate thick book could be written about that period of my life. After that, most of my life was spent in Ukraine. Even now that I'm here in the UK, those memories and images never leave me. I hope that here I will have the opportunity and strength to continue my story on canvas. After all, my memories themselves create these images and I am only a guide who simply transfers this to the canvas.
