The title of this piece is a quote from landmark American photographer, Keith Carter. Keith was generous enough to speak to a group of high schoolers at this year's Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, (via Zoom of course).
He was discussing how he discovered a new process in which his photographs had multiple aberrations. Hence, the quote.
I'm a self-taught, intuitive painter. I begin each piece with little to no idea what the finished product will be. Working in this method, I let the painting tell me what it wants to do, who it wants to be. Aberrations and all.
