Icon of the Holy Trinity. Painting

Icon of the Trinity depicting three angels of God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit. The icon of Andrei Rublev served as a model. The icon "Trinity" is written in the traditional canonical old Russian style. The production of the icon was carried out taking into account ancient and modern technologies. The painting was done with many thin layers using natural pigments and egg emulsion. The board is covered with linen and washed chalk, and animal glue is used here. The coating is called "gesso". Linden board, well dried, is the basis for painting. On the reverse side of the board are two oak veneers. Sheet gold is used in the icon. Upon completion of the painting, the icon is covered with a layer of varnish and a protective layer of varnish. The back side of the board is covered with an antibacterial protective coating. Very fine modeling of the form. Tender letter. Thin glazes add shine to the white backing. The icon uses reverse perspective. The main form of the composition of the icon of the Trinity is a circle. All three figures obey this circle. The circle unites them. This creates a special state of contemplation in which we constantly hear echoes of the circle's melody. These rhythms are inherent in everything - lines, shapes, colors. The inner life of the image is silence, which is transmitted to the viewer, filling him with the inner life of the icon. The year of completion of the painting of the icon is 2010.
