The image of the green man is one of the oldest mythical depictions in European culture and in England goes back many hundreds of years and is found on churches ,palaces ,manor houses and many pubs were named " The Green Man ". He is often depicted as a bit of a bogie man and quite scary with distorted features and tongue lolling out, this is a more benign image more in the manner of a wood nymph or more like KING of the wood nymphs. This profle picture shows me at work in my studio, the work in progress is " Ink Mathmatics". As you can see my work is very varied in subject and style. The things that inspire me are words mostly from songs or poetry, a word a phrase. The pictures I hope speak for themselves, but I hope they have a narrative somehow and tell a story.I have been painting since childhood. For the past year I have worked exclusively in mixed media and my style and execution has evolved into a much more bold and individual realisation of my own artistic philosophy.
