The painting is part of a project about sleep paralysis, a phenomenon that occurs during the transition from sleep to waking and vice versa. People who go through this state may become aware of a series of unusual hearing, smell or physical sensations, may have the impression that they levitate, run or fly. I wanted to represent the dream experienced as part of the awakened consciousness.
