About The Artwork
The work is inspired by my long interest in ancient art from Meso- America. In an attempt to incorporate old ideas of rendering into a new form of depiction, I borrow elements from Aztec and Mayan art merging with contemporary quantum images. This work is part of a new series exploring the theme. The title comes from the uncertainty of the future and how the past will play a part if any. I chose the round convex canvas as a tribute to the ancient use of the form. I am hoping that the viewer is excited and intrigued by the image. This artwork makes use of various layers of acrylic paint and ink to enhance the illusion of depth in the piece. My use of acrylic medium between layers enhances the reflectivity of the work.
